Frank Papy and Shelton Adams have taken up the John D. McDonald Gauntlet, in their well-reviewed novel, Waypoint For Revenge. Main character Frank Tattinger, yacht live aboard and semi-retired psychiatrist, is the modern day version of Travis McGee. The novel takes you on a nautical and tropical adventure involving big business deals, love triangles, murder, and mysterious disappearances. This story will possess the reader like a Caribbean tan on the skin. Like all key novels and first printings, there are a few typos.
Even though, this is their first endeavor, and Adams has passed away, the ending leaves it clear that a sequel must be in store. In this reviewer's closer analysis, there is a hidden esoteric message cleverly woven within the plot that makes the reader aware of the battle between the beauty of nature and greed of the material world for money, power and possessions. It's well worth the read for nautical mystery buffs and those alike.
